The Illinois Dance Officials Association (IDOA) was formed in April 2018 when the Illinois Spirit Officials Association cheer portion was dissolved. Temporary board members Gina Dryden, Katie Avery Kaczanko, Lynn Gelatka and Katie Dryden spearheaded this new association as they wanted to continue training, educating and mentoring IHSA dance officials.
